Skin check & skin cancer screening

The annual check-up of the entire skin organ is a must on Mallorca, especially due to the high sunshine.

From head to toe, the whole body is inspected with the experienced dermatologist’s eye and digitally and computer-assisted. Especially the use of this high-technology allows the early detection of skin cancer precursors and thus possibly a curative treatment. Skin cancer and skin cancer precursors usually do not cause any discomfort and are therefore easily overlooked by the layman. If there is a family history of cancer, sometimes a half-year skin check is also required.

Compared to other cancer screenings, the skin check is completely stress-free for the patient and extremely efficient.

Pediatric Dermatology

Frequently, inherited, dermatological diseases such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis or allergies begin as early as childhood. As the father of two sons, I feel especially connected to the smallest patients.

The most common skin diseases with children are:

  • Eczema
  • Nappy rash / Napkin dermatitis
  • llergies / hay fever
  • Warts
  • Rashes
  • Itchy skin
  • Hemangiomas (sponges of blood)
  • Birthmarks
  • Bacterial skin infection

Phlebology

Phlebology is the medical discipline concerned with venous disorders. Within this discipline, we mainly deal with the so-called spider veins and other kinds of varicose veins. The first is predominantly a cosmetic and aesthetic problem whereas varicose veins can lead to anything from eczema on the upper and lower legs to venous leg ulcers.

Therapeutic measures such as sclerotherapy and/or laser therapy when applied in time will result in an improved visual and aesthetic appearance. The treatment of varicose veins is a must in order to prevent ulcers on the lower leg and thrombosis. Other indicators of a phlebological disease include the feeling of “heavy legs” and “restless legs”.
